Worldwide smartphone shipments in Q1 2021 totaled 347 million units according to analysis firm Canalys. Apple shipped 52.4 million units compared to 37.1 million units for the same quarter last year. That gives the iPhone behemoth a 15% market share.

The report also states that iPhone 12 mini units are falling short selling below expectations though it was augmented by strong iPhone 12 model sales as well as the older iPhone 11.

Samsung had the most shipments with 22% market share selling more than 76.5 million phones.

Xiaomi is at third place with 14% market share shipping 49 million phones slightly below Apple. It had the highest jump as the Chinese firm had its largest single-quarter performance in the company history recording 62% growth year-over-year.

Oppo and Vivo rounded out the top five vendors shipping 37.6 and 36 million phones respectively. Huawei meanwhile fell to seventh place having once been the largest smartphone manufacturer in the world due to the ongoing U.S. trade war.

Apple doesn’t breakdown iPhone unit sales but analysis firm Consumer Intelligence Research Partners (CIRP) said that the iPhone 11 was Apple’s top selling phone followed by the iPhone 12 and 12 Pro Max.
